The GED Testing Program of Georgia, part of the Technical College System, awarded the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System the “Largest Growth in Number of GED Test-Takers” award.
In addition to being the only Saturday testing center, the Library’s GED program is supplemented by its adult literacy and English as a Second Language (ESOL) efforts. The Library System not only provides GED testing but also preparatory classes and assessments through a partnership with Atlanta Public Schools.
The extension of the Library’s GED program to both the College Park and Roswell Libraries, funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), is producing a significant growth in the number of individuals taking the test and receiving their GED, furthering the impact of this important effort.
